It is probably defaulting to "default avermedia webcam". In your video setup for messenger, make sure you choose "HP Webcam" as your default webcam.

As far as the battery goes, I have a similar tablet, the TX2500 and the 4 cell battery is abysmal. I have also bought seveal batteries - and returned several - from ebay. None met the specs that were stated.

I finally settled for the 12 cell battery that sticks out the back a little but actually goes under the tablet somewhat, however, I don't think it is available for the TX2 yet.

Beware of the batteries you get from ebay. I've had too many bad experiences with them.
