Hi,
Is anyone having drivers for windows XP of Touchsmart IQ500.Please help me to find it.
I think you have a better chance at getting Windows 7 RC to work rather than XP. Most of the drivers available for Vista should work with Windows 7 as well. From what I hear a lot of people are really happy with Windows 7, even though it is only at the release candidate stage for now.
I agree with GeekTieGuy, Win 7 is a better choice. That said, I wonder if XP could be installed in a virtual machine with positive results.

Windows 7 has a feature built into it that allows you to run XP inside of Win7. I don't think its in the release candidate yet. Theres lots of discussion on neowin.net about it. I'll go check it out and see what I find.
I run Win7 quite a bit on my IQ816 and it has been a very good experience. I think trying to go back to XP would be a major step backwards for you and I agree,, there would be no drivers to support it.

The XP in a virtual machine was assuming they'd prefer not to upgrade to Win 7. The XP mode isn't part of the RC download, but I think you can get it separately from here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/

You need to be sure that your intel Core2 Duo that is installed in your TS is intel VT-x capable and that Virtualization Technology is in the BIOS and turned on. Many of the lower end TouchSmarts do not have this feature imbedded in their CPU's, so Virtual Machine is not possible. The original T6600 in the iq526 and the T6400 in the iq524 are NOT VT-x capable CPU's. However, the T8100 in the iq816 is VT-x capable, and so can take advantage of the free Beta-ware from MS to Virtual XP within Windows 7. Be sure your CPU is able to do the job before you commit to the big download, it may take a few hundred precious dinero to make it happen without frustration and some head scratching. Go Here to see if your CPU is going to be able to run VM:

First, with that driver disk, I'd be cautious. It looks like one of those items that comes from a "driver robot" site that was described in another post. You give them money and theu give you a disk but possibly with not the right drivers. Buyer beware.
Second, Why do you want to run XP so bad on your touchsmart. It was designed for Vista. I know Vista has some performance issues but it really does run well on these machines. Its my feeling that you will have more problems trying to run XP thanit would be worth. Kind of like trying to put bandaids all over yourself after climbing through a barbed wire fence.
