I just brought my new TouchSmart IQ524 home and so far,so good.

My Windows Office 2007 has been loaded on four computers, so it wouldn't install correctly on my new machine (student version is limited to four licenses).  I downloaded and installed Open Office 3.1. It reads and writes all of the Office applications. Not quite as spiffy as the Microsoft product, but works fine... except...

I tried to use it under TouchSmart and the whole thing choked. I un-installed Open Office and TouchSmart works fine again. I re-installed Open Office and it works fine as a Windows application.

A minor issue with TouchSmart is the failure to get the Firefox logo to show up... program works fine if I choose a logo from the provided list. A minor complaint.

So far, the computer has been impressive.

blank_pageI installed OpenOffice (3.1) on my IQ524 too. Doesn't seem to choke when I run it through the Touchsmart app.

Did you go to the HP website and ran all the updates including the Touchsmart app?

Funny you say the Firefox icon isn't usable in TS as a tile icon.  Same happens to me.  Same goes for any webpages I save.  The logo doesn't appear at all--just an icon of a blank page.
