Hi All,

Unfortunately I am not a developer so I thought I would post this for all you programmers looking to develop apps of the TouchSmart.  Like many people, we have our touchsmart in the kitchen.  My wife has said on a number of occasions, wouldn't it be great if the touchsmart had a nice recipe management program that was touch, voice enabled.  Please see full description below.

 1. Recipe Management Database, that contains recipes, incredients, instructions, video link, etc.

2. Application would have same look and feel as the rest of TouchSmart programs.

3. Access list of recipes by Name, Type, Source, Ingredient, calories, etc

4. Application would be voice enable and could "read" the directions.  If I was making something that requires my hands to get dirty, I could pause, start, go back etc, by issuing voice commands.  I could link specific recipes to online websites, or videos, i.e, bbqu.net, americastestkitchen.com, foodtv.com,

Hopefully this post will tweak some interest.

That's a pretty cool idea, particularly if you can have it read the directions in the voices of celebrity chefs. Do you want Martha helping you in the kitchen today, or do you want Paula Dean, Mario Batali, or Emeril... BAM! :)

It would be really sweet too if the program could do conversions from say teaspoons to other measurements. Also it would be awesome if the program could divide/increase the ingredients of the recipe if you were making it for 5 people instead of 2... or something like that.

Thats really a great idea!
We used to have a GAteway Profile III in our kitchen and used a recipie program on it a lot. Sadly though the Profile quit working one day and alas, no more PC in the kitchen.

The first thing I looked for was a simple drag and drop shopping list. This way, as soon as me, kids, etc, use something up, we can drag into the list. Several of the apps I found combined both recipes and the shopping lists. If I could program, I would work on this one right away.

Lots of ideas in these current apps, too, like email the list, bluetooth to pda, include shopping order from your favorite grocery, etc.

If anyone wants to take this on, I am always avail for ideas or testing.
