Before I click install on the "official" SP2 installation executable, I wanted to know if there are there any known issues with Vista 32-bit SP2 and the TX2Z. Specifically, are there any issues with SP2 and the Touchscreen drivers and/or TouchSmart applications?

 Thanks....

I'm still waiting to hear from other users before I take the plunge. Did you try uninstalling the SP2 to see what happens? Did you, at least, find improvements in performance or some bug fixes for the TX2Z?

didnt give it much time. The only problem was that the ntrig settings wouldnt work and would get an error saying ntrig device could not be started everytime windows was started up. I did a system restore last night and the problems gone.

So, in effect, you had to remove SP2 to get it to work... right?

You are better off waiting for an update from N-trig, is SP2 breaks something.

I haven't received any issues after installing SP2 on my TX2 so far...it's been about a week now. If it doesn't work, all you have to do is system restore back before the update. I've updated 3 of my computers (including the TX2) and no issues so far. I haven't noticed any difference in performance unfortunately. :P

Im downloading the 64 bit version now. Damn, 567MBs...

My experience may be unique, but when I updated to SP2 I did have one issue. For whatever reason the QuickLaunch Buttons and Autorotate functionality broke. Reinstalled the newest N-trig drivers and QLB version off the support page, replaced the MCSVActn.dll that came with the new QLB package with the old version the originally shipped with the machine and all was back to normal.

tt said: I hate my touchsmart tx2. What a Piece of crap. Seriously, it's slow as crap with vista ultimate and the touch feature is more of a gimmick then practical. I wish I can trade this in for something better.

Plenty of places to sell it, and plenty of buyers, but there are more then a few folks that are happy with theirs.

Any specific issues? have you rebuilt it to ensure nothing has snuck in?

I am running sp2 on my tx2z , 64bit. I cannot speak for 32bit in this case but I can attest that I've encountered no issues/bugs with it in any of my Touchsmart Apps. I wish I could offer you the answer you are looking for. When in doubt, try it anyways...its only in trial do we know error..if any should arise at all. This is why we must always back things up and create those restore points!
