Hello,
Has anyone tried to install Vista 64 SP2 on a IQ816 yet? I just downloaded it from MS but don't want to hit the install button incase there will be issues.
Thanks!!

Woohoo! I won my Touchsmart!
I have noticed that after installing sp2 my computer randomly freezes for more than a few minutes and either bluescreens, comes back to life or just stays frozen. I look at my HD light and it is running and running and running. I reistalled the OS and the updates again hoping that it was just a corrupt driver in the old install but after a day or so it started to freeze again.
I then remembered that windows logs events. I went to Control Panel/Administrative Tools and looked at the Event Viewer and saw that it was logging the following...
Windows (2620) Windows: A request to write to the file "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\Windows.edb" at offset 6832128 (0x0000000000684000) for 8192 (0x00002000) bytes succeeded, but took an abnormally long time (338 seconds) to be serviced by the OS. This problem is likely due to faulty hardware. Please contact your hardware vendor for further assistance diagnosing the problem.
Windows.edb is the index file created to find information off the computer quickly and I think after installing SP2 something is either corrupting that file or locking onto that file and not letting anything else process.
There is a way to stop Windows indexing, so I disabled it and now the freezing seemed to have stopped. I guess I will give it a few days to see if the issue arises again.
But you said you reinstalled the OS. Did you do a clean format and install or just uninstall SP2? If you did a clean format and install, it should not be giving you the problem. However, if it is taking a long time to write data to the disk, then you may have a dying hard drive. Just coincidental that it coincided with the SP2 update.
