Part of my personal use of my tx2z CTO built on June 5th is hulu.com for TV clips and Movies streaming wirelessly.

On my Sony Vaio and HP dv7 it views/works perfectly HOWEVER on the tx2z (and this is my 2nd one from HP), it is jagged streaming hulu shows -- never fluidly streaming as with the others!

Has anyone experienced this?? (sorry only got to page 3 of this forum to see if anyone posted on this yet) Should I have it in some specific wireless G mode.

Hopefully this will be moot when I buy my new home wifi-n router but it might be inherent in the card....I will call HP in a few hours but posting this in the meantime.

Thank you

Look and see which background programs are running and how many cpu cycles they are consuming. If you still have norton antivirus, get rid of it and try something different. Nortons is a major resource hog.

Is the problem only with streaming video? If you have a G wireless and your connection quality is low, then you will see some choppiness. I know on my tablet - which has the same wifi card, I get only marginal quality (my other laptops seem to do better) on my G network. I too am thinking about going N which from a bandwidth and streaming standpoint should be an improvement.

Someone else posted the same question but I think it was for the regular touchsmart and Windows7.

HP had me disable all startup items except for digitizer and Norton deleted

And the G connection was still choppy AND when plugged-in directly to ethernet connection it was too (DSL 3.0Mbps/768Kbps)

No solution. I will try an n-router and, one day, windows7 to see if it makes a difference/ I tried an old 2002 HP notebook and it was a bit choppy but not consistently as in every second a slight delay in video not audio

And it happens mostly on hulu and veoh though I will try fullscreen youtube again and see if it happens consistently there too -- Just back after a long day so I will test throughout the week to see

..Except norton. I'm willing to bet the problem is norton.

A couple months ago at a readers request on another forum, I "Tried" Norton 2010. It took me less than two days to decide that I did not want it on my computer. Still a major resource hog and wreaked havoc on my internet connection.

Ditch Norton and go with the Free Grisoft AVG antivirus, Kaspersky or NOD. Stay away from McAfee...they are the "spawn" of Norton and just as bad.

If you have DSL, you will have to find a new router that is compatable with your DSL service providers settings. I use TDS and they make it pretty difficult for me to use any router but their own.

You could keep your current router and go with an N access point. It just plugs into one of the ethernet ports on your router. You can turn off the woreless on your router and use the new N AP for your wireless. Should work fine and cost less too.

David:

Thank you for that post. I will create that router environment by the weekend!

Norton is disabled in Services and unchecked & touchsmart restarted so application doesn't start up w/system

hp said for complete removal use symantec's website removal tool versus just using vista to remove the norton antivirus program. If that doesn't work I will deal with the fact that hulu IN FULL SCREEN ONLY is relatively hard to stream without choppiness on many machines with lower video ram or or or...we shall see (notably HP was very extensive to the point of looking up on 'their archives of customer questions' about this issue but gave up)

And yes i don't even like to SAY the name "McAfee" let alone install it on anyone's pc! What do you thing of avast antivirus? I like it. Very realtime and effective i'd say

I tried Avast before as well as NOD. Avast was not really user friendly, although I'm somewhat of a techno geek, I like simplicity. My favorite is AVG.
