Hey, I have been looking for a while for some new components for my iq500 now that i have chosen the only matter is "will they fit?". The components i would like to install are an asus P5Q Delux motherboard, A Gigabyte gtx260 graphics card and an intel core 2 quad Q9400 (2.66Ghz)

Thanks for any help

The motherboard in the IQ500 has a custom design and you probably won't be able to get any other motherboard to fit in any meaningful way, unless you're prepared to do a whole lot of case modding.

Not worth the time or money in my opinion. I'd stay away from projects like this unless you have time and money to burn on something that has only a slim chance of success.

Thanks heaps that saved a lot of Time and money but what about the graphics card and would the already installed motherboard support the Q9400 CPU?

I'm not sure. I don't follow all the ins and outs of hardware and what is compatible with what. Sorry. Maybe DaveTN or WaveRider have an idea.

The video card is integrated into the motherboard, like a laptop. You won't be able to replace it. I'm not sure about the CPU, but basically, imagine all-in-one desktops like the TS as giant laptops. If you can't replace it on a laptop, you generally can't replace it on the TS. To my knowledge, the only components you can upgrade/switch out on a TS desktop are the hard drive and the memory.

@roseohseven: Some models have discrete video cards, some have integrated cards. But you probably won't be able to find aftermarket video cards that work properly. Pretty much the only "safe" components to switch / upgrade are memory and hard drive, as you say.
