Hello,

Okay, the TS has been out for some time now... but why are there only six downloads available?  Aren't there any developers developing apps?  Is the HP team not allowing 3rd party apps?  Did the apps fail the guidelines?

I am thinking about building a "free" Calculator for the TS software but if HP is going to shoot it down, then I'll be wasting my time.

I would expect a lot of apps in the download page so i am confused now.  Does anyone know if HP will expand the download?

HP is not limiting anything on this site as far as I know. I see that the developer documentation has been downloaded over 3000 times, so disallowing is out of the picture too. Your guess is as good as mine regarding why there aren't more downloads available. My personal guess: people are waiting for Windows 7. But there may be other reasons. Each developer has their own pros and cons to consider.

Yea, i read the guidelines too. But to be honest, it is not good information to start building. I think they should have the Step-by-Step article below under the "HP TouchSmart Software Developer Guidelines." That article is very good and it gets the "wheels spinning" with the "Hello World" app in my opinion.

If you want to develop and app and you have the knowhow to do it, go ahead! We need people to develop apps for the TS.

I agree with what GTG said too though as my guess is that many may be waiting for Win7 which naitively supports multitouch.
