I am having difficulty connecting to a Belkin N Wireless Modem Router (wired or wireless).  I shows that I can connect to the router, but not the internet.  I am using the same router wirelessly with a sony vaio with no problems.  The problem occurs regardless of whether the sony is on or not.  I've tried reinstalling the drivers, switching the router on and off (including resetting the router)', getting new IP settings - all to no avail.  I'm not terribly technical (so any non technical advice would be most welcome!).  My vodafone 3G usb connection works perfectly

Are you using a WEP or WPA passkey to log on to the router or is your system open (security is turned off)?
If you are using security, its possible that you may not have typed in the correct passkey.
Also, what operating system are you using. I'm going to presume Vista but I need to ask.

Are you running ZoneAlarm firewall? A recent windows update conflicts with ZoneAlarm firewall and while it allows you to connect to a router, it blocks internet access.
