HI all,

I bought a tx2-1275dx last weekend from best buy. One thing I notice is the volume, quick-launch, wireless and touchpad lights all stay lit when the laptop is shutdown. I can expect they stay lit during sleep mode but since I am big on battery life I think they everything should power down when the device is totally shut down. The only way the light go off is if I pull the battery. Best Buy had no clue and HP support told me the bios upgrade to F14 would correct the problem. It did not.

I noticed that a fully charged battery at bedtime goes down to 70-75% in the morning. I am thinking this is due to the lights being lit.

I am wondering if this is a feature or something wrong with the laptop. Do any of your tablets do the same thing? I am curious to find an answer since I want to return it before the 14-day window expires.

Thanks.  John

When you shut down are you clicking on start->shutdown, or hitting the power button? Pressing the power button quickly will innitiate sleep mode by default. Eventually it will/should go from sleep to hibernate but in your case it does not seem to be.

Start -> Shutdown. I spoke with HP support and they said the lights should turn off at shutdown and in sleep mode.

I guess I will take it back to best buy and find another computer. Thanks.
