OMG!!! you are having the same Prob.. Too???... mines just started lastweek and i called hp and we troubledshooted for aprox: 105mins and there was nothing they can do but send me out a return box for me to send the touchsmart back in but i still have the it i haven't it back yet because im like damn i have to send my touchsmart waaaayyy back just for that small problem(Webcam) that they should be able to fix over the phone but they cant because we uninstalled and installed the entire HP touch software and still the issue was still not resolved.......
So my web cam works fine in windows, or even while using skype. However, now while in touchsmart, the webcam button is no longer lit up. Meaning it is no longer clickable. I know it worked a few days ago but now it does not. Any help out there?

hey, i figured out the source of the problem. it seems that the windows update to "service pack 2" caused the issue. getting your webcam to work again in touchsmart is not as simple as uninstalling it. you must do a system restore to a point prior to adding service pack 2. I am going to post a thread about two of my issues and my discoveries as to what was causing the problems.
