I have Touchsmart TX2 notebook and I must use networking capabilities of Vista Business/Ultimate edition in my office.

In this reason I upgraded my notebook to Vista Ultimate edition. After upgrade I noticed, notable decrease in performance of my notebook.

I could not tolerate this slowness and I want to install the business edition of Vista.

Currently I am planning to Install Vista Business from scratch.

  • Is there any guide or manual for installing Business edition?
  • Does Touchsmart's software fully support Windows Vista Business edition?
  • Has anyone tried this?
  • How could I find the drivers?
  • Do you recommend me to use Ultimate over Business edition?

Thanks in advance.

There should be no performance differences between Vista Business and Vista Ultimate, they use the same kernel. All your questions of asking about Business vs Ultimate are off-base because of this too, same kernel, same drivers, same install method.

More likely your issue was the upgrade and something not being happy.
I would think if you already own Ultimate a clean install of that would be the better way to go.

I solved the slowness issue. A program was using 40% of the cpu. I killed it and restart the windows. also I updated the windows and now the performance is much better.
I knew that the kernel are the same in both editions but some additional features are running in ultimate. (using more resources)
