Run the game under compatibility mode for XP, and you may get better performance. There are known issues with SF4 under 64-bit versions of Windows.

However, looking at the recommended Vista requirements (512 MB Nvidia 8600), I don't think the performance will be adequate at 1920x1200.

Same game, or a different one?

Off the top of my head, I don't really have any solid ideas. There are probably several things to try, but I've never encountered anything like being forced to reboot from game to game.

1. If these games are designed for Windows XP, try running them all in compatibility mode.

2. Make sure your TouchSmart is running the latest drivers from the HP website (especially graphics drivers)

3. Observe what's running before and after you launch a game. Perhaps that may lead to a solution.

Maybe the community has some other thoughts. Community?

+1 on compatability mode.

The touchsmarts graphics card should be more than adequate to run the game as well as the processor and memory.

It depends on a few things.  If you bought from a retail store and it has been in a store room for a few months or you bought a quick ship model from HP which was probably assembled a couple months ago, then no, the drivers may not be the most recent.  If you bought a custom order direct from HP the drivers should be current.

You can try running hp advisor and see what it tells you about needing new drivers.

Hit the Windows Start Button, and type in "advisor" in the search box. A program called "HP Total Care Advisor" should appear at the top. Click to run.
