I'm waiting for my TX2-1250ea. There were a few things in the UK spec which disappointed me, particularly no HDMI and wifi no n speed. Is the wifi card in the TX a standard type so that it can be replaced fairly easily with a higher spec one? Is it easy to replace or is it soldered in? Tried a search but couldn't find an answer.

TIA

Norm

Hey again Norm,

There are access ports for HDD, WLAN Card and RAM on bottom of the TX2-1160EA, I doubt they have changed that aspect, so yes if you can find a compatible WLAN 802.11-b/g/n chip then you can upgrade. I would wait to buy Wireless N card since it is still in draft until september, that way you would not have to worry about hardware specs changing, highly unlikely but just in case they do :)

As for HDMI, the TX2 comes with a ExpressCard/24 slot so you could buy a HDMI ExpressCard/24 adapter if you require it.

I live in the UK - I just bought a tx2z from america of the hp site.
my specs were;
2.4ghz processor
6gb ram
400gb HDD
wireless nbluetooth
litescribe

and it set me back 850 pounds including delivery. and for those worrying about warrenty issues, ive sent my laptop in already when the digitizer stoped working and it works fine, they sdent it back fixed in a week
international warrenty ftw!

I customised my HP tx2z with:
6GB RAM
400GB 5200rpm Hard Disk
2.4Ghz AMD Turrion Ultra x2 ZM-86
Bluetooth + Wireless N
Lightscribe DVD-RW drive

I live in the UK - But I imported my tx2 from america.
