Hi, I just got my TS a couple of days ago, (Thanks Waverider-Dave!) and I'm trying to update its drivers to the most recent version as possible, most of them are okay now, except for this video driver which I downloaded from the nVidia website (version 186.03, 136 MB) however when I try to install it, the message came out and said that the driver and the hardware are not matched.

I've checked thoroughly before I downloaded that the driver is for GeForce 9600M GS.... what could have gone wrong here? Is it because of the version of my vista? it's SP2, does every body else have the same problem here? Whatever the case, help~~~ please.

Yep, Its been a problem we've been talking about on here for the last couple months. Apparently the hardware ID on the HP model does not match the hardware ID on the nvidia model and the drivers don't recognize it.
Hopefully since Nvidia has released...and updated the driver a few times, HP won't be too far behind with a new driver of their own...hopefully.

I`ve got mine from here, but follow the instructions!
you will need to replace modded inf. file in order to install the driver (instuctions are on their forum somewhere)
Im now playing crisis, fear2 and other games on ultra-high!

and dont forget to create system restore point (just in case %))

done! thank you Yerlan. BTW which driver are you using right now? I used the latest (190.40), the screen tends to go black for a few seconds for no reasons at all - -" any idea what might happened?

And can you really play Crysis on IQ816? Howwwww??

Oh... and I forgot to create the restore point :P

by the way, I'm using my TS to do 3D modeling/sculping in Mudbox, :D it's really fun using your fingers to this (well, mudbox is already fun so this is like double the fun... :D)

ah.......help, my TS's monitor is not working at all, nothing is displaying, not even bios boot up screen!

August 3, 2009 2:11 AM

I managed to pull the blue screen thing at boot up and ran diagnostic test, this came up....

Error Code: BIOHD-4
Error: Unitialized/corrupt boot structure detected.

Haha...I think I screwed up big time...

All, I just posted a step-by-step walkthrough in another thread for getting the IQ816's NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS working correctly with the NVIDIA Windows 7 x64 / Windows Vista x64 drivers under Windows 7 x64 RC 7100.

These steps should also work for Windows Vista x64, and moreover, they should work for the NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS card. Just be sure to read through them carefully.

You can find the post here in this forum:
