The Weather application is only available for English language systems, since the service provider only supports that language at the moment and for the foreseeable future.
The zip code is not really stored in weather.exe.config, since it is a per-user setting. There may be an entry there, but it's overridden by the user.config file in a different location.
If you don't mind having weather information only in English, send me a private message, and maybe I can help you set it up.
Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum and recently bought a touchsmart 500 series in Brazil.
My problem is that the weather application is not present on the main screen and doesn't show up when you try to add a program.
I know it is on the hard disk and tried to add it with the full path on the add a program screen but it didn't work.
As soon as press the icon of the weather the touchsmart application minimizes and maximazes again and do nothing. I took a look at the weather.exe.config ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\TouchSmart\Weather) and couldn't understand how to change the parameters as it seems to be using american zipcodes and I don't know how to change it to use city names or even if this is possible.
And yes, I have the latest version of the touchsmarrt software.
Any ideas?

Hi there,
the funniest thing happened. I started my touchsmart PC and the weather widget was gone. i got an error about weather.exe missing. it is there (in C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\TouchSmart\Weather) but it says that it has stopped working.
any ideas?
can i restore this or reinstall it somehow?

If weather crashed (Windows calls it stopped working), HP TouchSmart will notice and prevent it from starting up the next time around. Go into Personalize and see if the Weather button is highlighted or not (the button will look different). If it is not highlighted, click on the larger part of the button to highlight it, thereby turning Weather back "on". When you return to the home screen, Weather should reappear after a little while, unless it crashes again. If it keeps crashing/turning off, please download the latest update for the HP TouchSmart software from http://support.hp.com

How can I config the weather widget parameters to have information about weather from Barcelona, Spain? I don't know how to configure wiidget parameters.

Tap the weather tile (widget). This will take you to the "large" version of the tile. Now look in the upper right. There is a Settings button. Tap it, then type your location into the search box and perform the search. Tap the OK button to return to the "large" tile. Tap the House button in the upper left to return to the HP TouchSmart home page.

i can't find the settings button since when i just opened TS for first time, no weather icon at all : i had to put it manually from the TS params... even not sure i did it right...
C:\Program Files (x86)\Hewlett-Packard\TouchSmart\Weather\weather.exe
is what i put in the location line...
no settings, and worse : same as JCMA here : TS soft minimizes and maximizes no weather at all !

Read the post from November 19 above, please. The Weather tile is only available on systems with English as the OS language.

No way to have it working on a non-english os (i.e. Italy)? Forecasts in English won't be a problem...
