Is there any way to lock the icons so that they do not relocate when rotating the display?
Right click on the desktop and choose view and then make sure allign to grid is selected. Uncheck auto arrange if it is selected. That should keep things organized.

Thank you, but unfortunately that does not solve my problem unless there is a way to decrease the space between icons on the grid. I organize all my desktop icons in small clusters, so align to grid does not work for my situation. So am I out of luck?
