I am purchasing a new smart (cell) phone - does anyone know which one is the best for sync with Touchsmart (tasks/calendar/notes etc)? I have the HP Touchsmart desktop.

Any of them should work. I have both a HTC PPC phone and an ipod touch and both sync to my Touchsmart without any problems.
One point to consider is, do you want a "smart phone" or a "Pocket PC (PPC) Phone"? The reason I ask is that smartphones do not have touchscreens while PPC phones do. My preference is for the PPC Phone.

Thank you for the reply! I use to have an iPhone before my Touchsmart but it only synced with it's own software - no color claendar and tasks did not sync without thrid party software. I do not have Microsoft Exchange.
I was hoping whatever I get (yes - with touchscreen definately) would use the Touchsmart software itself. Does your HTC do that? I was told the Dream doesn't.

As far as I know, the HP TouchSmart software does not sync with any phone directly. You may be able to rig something up, but I don't know how straightforward that would be.

Hi Geek TieGuy - I think you are unfortunatly right. It would be nice if Touchsmart could set something up. It really doesn't work to use two calendare (outlook and Touchsmart) but I really like the Touchsmart. I also have Outlook 2007 so I may have to find a phone that will sync properly with that (the iphone doesn't)

Yes, actually I do sync between TS, Outlook and google...but indirectly. I use a progtram called "syncmycal" that syncs my outlook and gmail calendars which in turn syncs with my TS calendar. I can also sync my PPC phone and that info ends up in all of my calendars. It works great for me.

Any smartphone or pocket pc phone should sync fine with outlook 2007.
Also, see my post above about using syncmycal to sync google, outlook, touchsmart and my phone.
Which phone(s) are you looking at?
