Hey,

I love my touchsmart to death. The only thing thats killing me about it right now is that one of my directional buttons are extremely loose and always comes out! I nearly lost it in one of my classes. I want to know If I can purchase one without having to ship my computer all the way to HP just for them to switch a little button. The key/button/cap (i'm not exactly sure what it's called) is the down arrow key. Could someone please help me?

Upgrade your warranty so they will ship you a new one before you send yours back?

I'm not sure if this is the most desirable option though, as it adds to the cost.

That happened to my older laptop a year after I got it (also an hp). I just glued the damn thing back on. It's still on there to this day.

It was an old dv1000, I loved that thing, it's still going strong! Even after a couple of drops on the floor.

It sounds like a simple problem. If it is more of an annoyance than anything else, glue it! just make sure the glue you use is plastic friendly.

in regards to just gluing the key on. That depends on exactly how it broke. Did the spring break adn the whole key comes off or just one of the retaining tabs? If one of the tabs broke, gluing may work. if the spring is missing, you may have to replace the keyboard.
You may want to look on ebay. I've found keyboards and other parts there pretty cheap before.
