After watching some videos on Youtube on the Touchsmart IQ desktop I was very impressed with the software and I thought "Why cant I have that on my tx2z laptop?"

So I searched around the web and here and a guy on a previous post said he had no luck and gave a link.

So I have downloaded the software needed and created a batch file for easy installation.

So this is the Touchsmart IQ desktop software fully working on Vista and Windows 7 (sorry only x64) on the TX2 Laptop.  It works quite well too!!!

Interesting. A word of advice: Don't run the TouchSmart software while on battery. What you are experimenting with was not designed with a design goal of low impact on battery life. Also, should you feel the need to ask HP for support (some people will say "why would I ever do that?") you would probably not get any for this configuration. In other words, anyone who experiments with this kind of setup is on their own in doing so.

Hmmmm, I tried to do it, and after it installs I can't get any programs in there. thanks for making it such an easy install! Looks awesome, only no programs nor can I add tiles. Any ideas?

Thanks

Yes when it starts the tiles are empty, if you click on the Personalize button on the bottom right you can add tiles to it.

Add a tile > Program > Choose from List

You can also add RSS Feeds and web pages.

Better yet, right click on the proper exe's for each of the programs and selesct Vista in compatability mode. That will get them all working properly...mostly. Runs well on my TX2500 laptop. But GTG is correct. It does put a hit on the battery and I need to run in max performance as it is cpu intensive.

Woohoo! I won my Touchsmart!

I tried both those things. After I press, personalize --> add tile --> either choose from a list or actually put in the target in like "C:\Programfiles...etc" it either says the target isn't valid OR if I click the "choose from a list" it automatically just closes and shows me the desktop. Can anyone help? Should I reinstall? I think this software is sooo cool! Especially the calendar! DOes that work with this? Thanks so much!
