I know I have the CPU thread, but I still felt I should just make a new thread. I read about 2-3 different threads on cpu upgrades, and although I am very computer savvy I am not so much in the Touchsmart field, at least not yet. It's still on it's way to me. I'm willing to pay any price to make my touchsmart faster(or the fastest!) so all I'm looking for are simple answer of the fastest known processor to work, and the fastest video card I can upgrade to.

There's a computer company that can order me parts that you cannot buy retail, such as processors and video cards so if you know something faster than the MXM II 9600M GT that you know will work in the Touchsmart, then let me know. Also, I definitely need to know the fastest working processor since I already ordered it under the false assumption that I could put a Quad Core in it since they were both socket P, which was my mistake.

My third question, is I that I read that the IQ800 series supports up to 8gigs of ram. I would also like to know the best ram I can get to upgrade to. I want to have the beefiest Touchsmart I possibly can guys so don't be shy :)

The model I ordered is the IQ800 series

Even though the socket is the same, the BIOS and chipset calls the shots when it comes to the CPU. While the Quad core will fit in the socket, its not gonna work.
The max RAM on the 800 series is 4 gigs too. I've done the research and was disappointed to find that out. The 500 series DOES support up to 8 gigs.

What you may want to look at is the max cpu that the board supports, then consider overclocking it a bit. It can be done, but you will end up with more heat and fan noise and possibly bave to come up with a more agressive cooling solution.
Waverider has a good post about the CPU and the Video card. You should read it if you haven't already.

Hey DaveTN, I think it's the Eve mobo that goes up to 4GB and the Maureen mobo that goes up to 8GB. There are 500 AND 800 models out with both mobos.

For example this quick-ship IQ846 can support up to 8GB according to the site: http://www.shopping.hp.com/product/rts_desktop/rts_desktop//3/storefronts/NP2...

So can this quick-ship IQ526:

Otherwise you're spot on.
