I have had the 'unknown device' problem with Vista, and moved to Windows 7.  Unfortuately, it did not fix the problem.

Now I have another problem. The 'auto mode' is not working properly.  The pen mode is not locked at all.  In fact, even 'pen only' mode recognizes firger touches.  It seems the touch mode is not controlled properly.

Am I only one who experiences the problem?  Now, I am suspecting this one related to the 'unknown device' problem.

Thanks!

Oh, my laptop is TX2.

My guess is that the unknown device is the consumer IR device. Check device manager to see if it is present. My bet is that it is not. If its missing, you can download the drivers from HP's website. Its common for it to not be installed during win7 and Vista, if you don't use the OEM disk.

I'm sorry about not being clear on 'unknown device.' The 'unknown device' means that the n-trig digitizer malfunctions and disappears in the device manager while one of the USB composite devices becomes an 'unknown device.'
The IR works fine after installing the vista driver as you mentioned. Thanks.

So, does the auto mode work fine with your laptop?
