That was addressed with the software released on the IQ846.
My photos, videos and music reside on a LaCie network disk.
I understand I cannot access my media with TouchSmart software?
If true, it makes the TouchSmart series look TouchStupid.
Hope I am wrong!
That's really great to hear!
My model is an IQ515, will that SW work on my model you think?
If so, how do I get that SW?
Thanks a lot!
In theory, yes, the software will work on that model. But unfortunately it can't be made available for models like the IQ515. I sound like a broken record when I say it (just search the forums), but there are non-technical issues that prevent making the updated software available as a download. Yes, still as of today.
That depends on how "legal" you and the owner of the IQ846 wanted to stay. Hypothetically speaking, of course.
Is the software available for the IQ804?
Pretty sad of HP to drop updates to those who bought into the HP TouchSmart technology early.
Unfortunately the IQ804 is in the same boat as the IQ515.
As far as HP dropping updates goes, that's not entirely accurate. HP has provided updates to the HP TouchSmart Application (the "shell", if you will). Versions 2.5 and 2.8 were posted since version 2.0 came out with the IQ5xx. Each version had improvements and fixes included as well as some new features. The Calendar application has been updated to version 2.5. Music/Photo/Video have gone through one or two updates, and are now at version 2.5 as well. See this page (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2100&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&la... for all updates available for the earliest models released (in the Software - Solutions section).
I understand the frustration about the latest Music/Photo/Video version in particular not being available, and I keep advocating on behalf of this community that it be made available by HP, but my influence is limited.
