When I use my Touchsmart Televsion, my reception is fine. I'm running through a Time Warner HD cable box.

Audio runs from the cable box through a red & white lines to the back of the computer where they connect to the red-white Y-cable that plugs into the audio JACK (right below the S-video). The volume goes from 0-50 and sound increases proportionately.  However, the top volume range is about half of what it should be, thereby making it hard to hear.

Every other application (i-tunes, u-tube and Windoows media player) will provide great sound.  It's just the TV that doesn't get the job done.  I've downloaded the most recent Sound Max drivers and that doesn't seem to help.  I did note that the downloaded driver said 32 Bit.

This problem is driving me mad...

Any ideas?

You need to provide more information, the instructions for setting up the computer are posted on HP's website. Is there a specific issue that you're having trouble with?

It will never be HD on the set top box, those are std definition
You also don't have to use the remote to choose, tell it what kind of box you have.

The instructions for setting the connections up are on the HP website and in your documents.
