I have the same problem with HP. How does HP get away with this blatant false advertising? Because we let it. That's why Oboma goes after these rogue companies.
There was no lanyard in the box and HP CS rep checked and found that it was supposed to be in there but that it was not available as a part that could be sent to me. Have been unsuccessful in finding any on the web. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Mine came with a lanyard but I don't use it because if you attach it, it just hangs there. There is no way to store it so it's like your laptop has a long sting coming out of the side that things can accidentally snag and your stylus will just pop out.

Hi,wabas: Do you want to sell/give away the lanyard? I had borrowed a 1020 and found that I liked having it and missed it when I got my Tx2z. Thanks!

A stylus lanyard redux: I was out of town over the weekend w/my TX2 and working in the WiFi area. By the time I got back to my camper, I discovered the stylus wasn't in it's silo. Folks at the office hadn't found it and no one turned it in. I found it between the car seats the next day. Another good reason why I want a lanyard (besides always carrying the laptop in a case). I think I'll be making one; unless someone out there has one they want to get rid of.

The lanyard that comes with the laptop is ok (I got one and went ahead and bought myself an extra HP pen from the company), however since it's got absolutely no stretch, it snags kinda bad. I haven't had an issues with the pen being pulled out, however I suspect it's saved me several times of loosing the pen since the mechanism for the pen pop up on my machine is so powerful.
I'd consider when you were making the lanyard to make an improvement on it and use one that stretches slightly. All I can say is to just make sure it's long enough it's not uncomfortable to use! :D
