Sounds like an issue with PowerDVD.
FOr some odd reason PowerDVD Ultra 9 ( latest edition retail ) cannot play any of my blurays claimed that the video card is not powerful enough.
WTF?!?!?!?! Worked fine when I had it on before. I have the latest HP Drivers installed for my GPU directly from the HP site since the ones from Nvidia do not work.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with GTG. Bluerays play fine on my TS in both Windows 7 and Vista. Sounds like you need to blame the software and not the GPU. :-)

Woohoo! I won my Touchsmart!
No rly? Thanks for the advice but that is EXACTLY what I am doing. I am in no way blaming the GPU.
A friend lent me WinDVD for BR and it says the same thing.
Try again.

Is it a retail copy (I guess it is)? I'm wondering if the HP edition that comes with the computer is "optomized" for your system.
Have you checked Power DVD's website to see if its a known problem or if there are updates?
You may also want to check the location settings in the program to make sure your country is the selected location.

No. It is a RTM of Windows 7. If you mean PowerDVD then yes it is. I checked the Cyberlink site and nothing there. Region codes are set to Region 1 which is where I am.
Not sure what to think here.........
If HP did do something to `their`version then that is stupid of them to do. I paid good money for this program.

So you're running PowerDVD 9 in combination with Windows 7. But HP has not released any Windows 7 drivers for *any* machines yet, since the date for when HP is allowed to sell Windows 7 has not come yet (it's October 22.)
Are you sure PowerDVD 9 is ready for use with Windows 7?
It worked before. No reason why it would stop now.

What does "before" mean? What was the difference between "before" and now?
A reformat was needed since the crappy Seagate HDD failed so I replaced it with a much superior Western Digital one.

I see. Do I remember correctly that you're running Windows 7 RTM? Did you mention which model you have (IQ???)
816

Okay. So is this what you're saying: You used to have Windows 7 RTM on your 816 while you had the Seagate drive in there, and you were able to watch Blu-ray using PowerDVD 9. Then you installed a Western Digital hard drive, installed Windows 7 RTM on it, and now PowerDVD 9 tells you the GPU isn't powerful enough (What is the exact error message, BTW?). Did I get that right?
If yes, how did you install Windows 7 RTM on the box before the hard drive switch? Upgrade install or clean install?
In my mind I still come back to the fact that there are no published Win 7 drivers for the IQ816 hardware. That may be causing problems with PowerDVD 9.
Sry for the late response. It is still saying the exact same thing no matter what I do.
Any more ideas?
Oh and....Clean install.
