With basic cable, all you should need to do is connect the cable to the connector on the back left of the IQ816t. Then you use Windows Media Center to set up your channel lineup by typing in things like your zip code and cable provider. It's not too complicated.
It would be more involved if you had a settop box, because then you'd have to fiddle with IR blaster cables to make the settop box switch channels in sync with Media Center. Media Center would still help you set things up that way, but setting up the IR blasters can be a pain.
So I'm looking at buying a IQ816t and I am wondering exactly how it connects to my cable. I currently just have basic cable, not converter boxes/tivos, etc. Is there a coax connecter or the like for the cable? Or is there more to it. Thanks in advance.
