Mine is a bit loose, still runs hot though.
I can not tell you anything about the beeping noise though.
I just want to know if it's just me or are other people's battery pack kinda loose. I had to put a foam between the battery and laptop and it still wiggles a little.
The first one I got (before I exhanged it because the wireless card broke) didn't have this problem. Is this common on the new ones?
I think this is new a version because I can put it on High Power, run the Sims 3, Photoshop, etc. and not even produce as much heat and noise as the first one I had. I can actually put it on my bare lap and not get fried - on high power. Last one sounded like a leave blower even on HP reccomended. (Kinda glad my wireless broke and they sent me a new one) Also noticed the fingerprint reader is 40% smaller.
BUT, what's with the wiggly battery pack? Also, when I bump the laptop, (sometimes) it makes a slight beeping noise. What's that about? The volume is off, but it makes a beeping noise.
Is it a genuine HP battery directly from HP? Mine is slightly loose but I don't have any problems with it.
I also have anothe battery that was supposed to be a genuine HP that I got off Amazon.com that turned out to be a caunterfeit one that is loose. Also does nto take or hold a full charge. I was reimbursed for it by the seller and they told me not to send it back so I still use it when my genuine battery runs out. But there is a difference between the two.
Also, these are "consumer level laptops" and the tolerances are not as good as the business level laptops that HP makes. I use some HP business laptops at work and they are tight as a drum compared to the few HP consumer laptps that I use. It also accounts for the considerable difference in the cost between the two classes. :-)

Woohoo! I won my Touchsmart!
Yes the newer tx2s run much cooler and whisper quiet... Still a 45nm C2D would generate much less heat (= longer battery life) compared to AMD's 65nm Turions.
My laptop is also making a beeping noise when the volume is off. It isn't when I bump it though. It just happens occasionally. Any theories as to what is causing the beeping?
That is odd. Any information regarding what you are doing at the time on the unit, operating system, etc? Something more to go on than "it beeps sometimes" =p

Well that's the thing.
There is no pattern. At first I thought it happened whenever I was downloading something, but I disconnected from the internet completely and it still beeped.
Sometimes, like right now, its perfectly quiet, but other times it beeps somewhat frequently. What i think is most weird is that it beeps even when the volume is off!
The operating system is Windows 7
I ordered my tx2z in August and I hear a beeping sometimes as well. It seem to beep just after I move it, though. Does it have a gyroscope of some kind?
I think it is the hard drive. Mine makes the same sound. Swapped drives and it went away. Its just a particular for that drive, not a sign of impending failure.

Interesting. What kind of hard drive is it exactly? I never used the stock hard drive in mine so never experienced anything like that.
