That would be true if the screen were using resistive technology. It is not, as far as I know. It is using capacitive technology, which means a "fleshy" thing has to come in contact with it in order for the digitizer to recognize anything. iPhone is the same way (if you put on a glove, it won't react to your touch). The included stylus uses electromagnetics.
So, as unbelievable as it may seem to you, no, a normal stylus can't interact with the TX2 touch screen.
Short and simple, how does one make it so that a normal stylus can interact with the touch screen? I KNOW it can--there's no possible way they forgot something THAT relatively simple.
