You can create your signature in paint and save it then paste it into your word document.

However, if you are using Word 2007 you can click on "insert" just above the ribon and all the way on the right you will see "signature line". Clicking on it gives you two choices: Add Signature Services and Insert Microsoft Signature. The first choice iis a paid service and the second allows you to create your own digital id. While less secure, the second choice is simple to do. Its kind of like a guided wizard that walks you through the process.
