I have a TM IQ816 750GB. I was unable to use webcam for video relay call (http://www.viable.net/vrs/overview) because the sign langugae interpreter can not see me however I can see the interprter. I checked "capture filture properties", the video capture indicated it is "USB video device". that's why the sign language interpreter can't see me. There is no way for me to change from USB video device to HP webcam. How do I fix that problem?

Did Vista SP2 get installed on this system (either through Windows Update or manually)?

Okay, that's most likely why. SP2 overwrites the original friendly device name for some reason. There is a way to bring that device name back, and I've been looking for volunteers to try out a solution I might work on, but until I get some people who are willing to help out with testing, I can't go any further with it.

GTG,
I was going to volunteer to help you with it but when I checked my webcam itt was working in WIndows Live Messenger. I'm running Vista SP2 as well. I can also open HP webcam from the touchsmart software and it works. Hmmm wonder why it happend to some and not others.

Good question. I don't know the answer, unfortunately.
