Hey I have the ugly battery that extends under the laptop. What is the biggest battery that doesn't do that? Extending behind is ok, under is not.

I run a 4 cell battery that gets me about 2 hours of standard use. It sits flush with the laptop.

What cell size are you using?

If I'm remembering, mine is 6 cell and is flush with the bottom though it extends out the back a little (very convenient for carrying around). HP should have it listed on their website.

Master has the 8-cell battery.

I like the 8 cell personally. It lifts the unit off the surface that it sits on and helps to make sure its being cooled properly.

To each their own though.

I agree with jollywombat. I like the fact the unit is raised and air can more easily circulate for better cooling.

Also, this helps if you use it while it is sitting on a bed or soft surface that normally would kill all airflow on the unit. (Been in business training conference out of state all week, glad of that battery "feature" while reviewing notes late at night in the hotel)
