I've reproduced the issue. Until now it wasn't a known issue.
As your post title says, it's an interesting issue.
I bought three Touchsmarts for the home and office(s). I ended up returning two of them because of software limitations (The main reason for the purchase was the love for their additional software program; very creative idea).
Anyway that said, I noticed if you create a tile for GMAIL for instance, and if you use the browser wrapper in the Touchsmart Software, go to the body of the message and hit ENTER with Rich Formatting on (which is default), it will not go down a line and does not register the ENTER key being hit. Turning off Rich Formatting resolves this issue. This only occurs within the Touchsmart Software through the browser.
This was paramount because there is no applications written for GMAIL, TWITTER, FACEBOOK, ETC... thus I just created a URL tile.

So am I to understand that either a) everyone has this issue and its a known bug in the software or b) this only happens on my computer? Can someone who has a touchsmart attempt to write a letter in Gmail via a created TILE and let me know your results? Thank you.
