Is anyone having issues with images / background display having sharp dots all over, it seems to be as a result of the hp touchsmart 2.0

It is not dead pixels, the problem seem to go away temporarily when I uninstall hp touchsmart software, then it comes back ..

I have touchsmart iq506t with vista

Thanks

Tony

If you have a digital camera, could you take a picture of the IQ506t display when you see the issue and post that here? It may help understand what's going on better.

Good idea.. I had a hard time using the advanced editor here, it is Vista's security ...
Anyhow, I took three photos of the problem and posted them in Flicker, here is the link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/32899913@N04/

Thanks in advance for your help to solve what is causing this color adjustment problem.

Here is another clue to when this starts:
If I restart my computer, once things start loading, the background, and even when I start a browser session, the display is fine; as soon as the touchsmart finishes loading and puts its home shortcut on the desktop, the desktop background and the images on any open browser pages get dots all over them... It is annoying. HP support's solution is to send them the PC and they'll recover and reinstall everything again.. that takes few weeks and lots of software installations and settings..

Anyone, any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Tony

PS, I did also install the latest HP TouchSmart updates .. did not make a difference..

If you believe it's the Touchsmart Software that is causing your display issues you could test that out by: entering your System Configuration (MSCONFIG) and disabling Smartcenter under the Startup tab and restarting the computer. If your display issue stops there then you've definitely determined what is causing the issue (and come up with a workaround).

If that fails to solve your issue you could try reinstalling the original display adapter driver from the recovery manager.
