Some of you might know about NVIDIA latest offering, which doesn't need special hardware (a cheap paper anaglyph 3D red/cyan glasses would do): http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_Discover_Main.html

Well, there is hope for ATI users to enjoy the same!

1. Download and install the driver (Vista/Windows 7): http://iz3d.com/download/files/iZ3DDriverSetup_1_10rc2a.exe (if link doesn't work, try: http://www.iz3d.com/drivers/download.php?file=iZ3DDriverSetup_1_10rc2a )

 2. Set the driver to '3D Anaglyph Output'. (this is done by selecting 'Anaglyph DirectX (free)' during setup-step 1 above!)

 3. Get a pair of cheap glasses: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2-PAIR-RED-CYAN-3D-GLASSES-CHEAPEST-ON-E-BAY-WITH-POST_...

4. Enjoy your DirectX games in true 3D.

 5. You can also watch the 3D movies like those at http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Vision_3D_Movies.html using the following 3D Video Player: http://www.iz3d.com/3dsoftware

 Enjoy!

Hmm, so they dont require the 120hz monitor anymore? Interesting.

no they don't. this is the passive (anaglyph) technology. great 3D/depth, but inferior colors compared to active and naked eye 3D technologies.

Well - I doubt the tx2 is powerful enough to render twice as much frames as normal (required for stereoscopic view).
The new drivers are nice for desktop PC with big graphic cards, but not for ultra-portable laptops.

3D Movies do not require any extra noticeable efforts. Regarding games on the tx2 in true 3D, some work well (Chess Titan, SPORES, GE, etc.) while others suffer a lot in the performance department esp. with higher graphics settings (Pixar Cars Game, etc.). The Catalyst 9.9 mobility driver with bios F.21 and some undervolting have significantly boosted the graphics capabilities of this machine.

Ok - I did not think about movies.

>> undervolting have significantly boosted the graphics capabilities
Only for clarification: Did you manage to undervolt your graphic card?
If yes: Which tool / tutorial did you use?

>> some work well (Chess Titan, SPORES, GE, etc.) while others suffer a lot
I have problems with newer games at even lowest settings - a little bit more dedicated graphics RAM would have work wonders...

yah, somehow I cant picture what I would call more advanced games working well with such a restricted card using this considering their already minimal performance.

Movies though could be neat, but then again who really watches that many movies on a 12" screen vs their TV or normal monitors?

CPU undervolting (PumaCtrl tool)

Key to further lower temps besides CPU underv. (normal to mid-high load in the 40s up to mid-50s oC max., sustained; max. 79 or 80 oC at full heavy 3D load - sustained) are:

Mobility Catalyst 9.9 - the MOBILITY version is very different in this respect than the standard Catalyst 9.9 (though both will install unmodded - NVIDIA is better in this respect)

AND

BIOS F.21

All of above means the machine can cope with heavier loads for long time without downclocking itself or the fan running crazy and loud like a hair dryer. It also means the machine can effectively cool down, unlike previously where the fan, once triggerred, would never stop.

(sustained: means many long continuous hours; higher temps in mid-80s and above are now only history of the past! they're no longer seen, even at max. 3D loads for hours)

Tips for Undervolting.

\The program is called PumaStateCtrl.

I use K10STAT personally as it appears to be working better than puma for the moment.
