Alright, I puchaded a tx2z from hp had it for 19 days and sent it back becuse i herd about a few of the upgrades the TX2 is getting.

We all know:

Its getting 7

Its getting the new 45mn cpu

and a slightly better gpu

OH i almost forgot A NEW STICKER! ^^

everything else is going to be pretty much the same.

So, I've already got  my 8gb of ram ready (yay $250 for 8gb)

And I have already found the blu-ray drive that can be swapped in this computer.

So my final question is:

The vga webcam...... I happen to have a 1.3 mp webcam in my dv6200cto, I was wondering..... can I simpilly switch the webcam and have 1.3 mp on my tx2?

I would imagine that the webcam is on the usb bus for both computers. As long as the connector on both motherboards is the same I can't think of why it [edit]wouldn't work.

A better concern is if the dv6200 will physically fit in the same space on the tx2z, also the wire may be a different length. Cables on the tx2z feed though the central hinge while the dv6200 they go through the left or right hinges, the dv6200's cable for the camera may not be long enough to reach on the tx2.

Best way to gauge it would be to look for a service manual for both systems that covers replacing the camera. Past that you won't really know until you open them up and look. I suppose HP would prefer that I also add trying to do this is risky and might damage your system/void your warranty.

Is the webcam in the tx2z less than 1.3mp I am guessing then? Never really messed with it much so curious.
