Nice read on gottabemobile.com about the prsent and future of the Touchsmart PC line. Looks like everyone else is wanting to get into the touch business too so hopefully that will bolster HP's desire to continue the TS line.

Follow the link for the story and videos:

It looks like they've made a lot of really good design choices in this next iteration of the Touchsmart software. I especially like how the programs are integrated into the Desktop a la Apple's Dashboard, and using the Touchsmart programs doesn't separate me from the rest of my computer.

* The HP TouchSmart tx2 does not natively support Windows 7 touch but is mobile device.
* The HP TouchSmart 9100 provides native support for Windwos 7 touch applications but is not a mobile device.

So according to my common sense meter somebody in product planning really blows the opportunity for VARs, Integrators and ISV HP Partners developing touch-enabled applications to carry a Windows 7 TouchSmart mobile netbook (preferred) or notebook onto the customer's premises to demo and close the sale for product and software services intended to be developed and deployed to the HP LD4200tm digital signage platform.
Hello?
