Since i turned off the smartmenu, the button for it is useless, well installed this quick button mapping software to point the button to execute ie instead and it works like a dream........enjoy!!!

if you keep smartmenu, you can program it to launch up to seven apps thru its on-screen graphical ribbon. You can also change the color tiles to match the icons of your apps.

True but it uses alot of resources and to me thats not worth it.

not with version 3 anymore. it is specifically coded for Win7. Takes a mere 5MB memory and 0% CPU (2-3% just when the button is pressed then it goes back to 0%).

Yah, new smartmenu is working a hell of a lot better. Still a useful link though :)

I fully uninstalled smartmenu. is there a link to re download the full software? because the link about is just a patch to the original install it seem. I'd like to see how well this works also.

the link has the full installer x86 and x64 versions inside - just extract it with 7-zip or winrar. HP own batch scripts that call the installer can be probloematic.

The link downloads as an executable, i tried installing it twice and no luck

FWIW,

I had to manually extract the package because the batch installer they wrote sucks eggs.

Then under the src folder, you will find the 32 bit or 64 bit installer.

Ok i got it installed but i dont see where you can program apps in it.
