The analog part of the tuner does show up, and it knows I have a cable connection, is this why it doesn't show the ATSC tuner in Media Center (it somehow knows there is only one coax connector?)

Also has anyone installed TV Pack on this? (hoping that the Digital tuner is actually also a QAM tuner, (the AverMedia's seem to be both))

Same question.

How do you get Media center to detect the unencrypted QAM channels. I verified the QAM channels do pass through because I tried a third-party program that worked.

I need to figure this out (this is why I bought the system) before the return period ends.

I installed TV Pack on it, and the tuner was only detected as ATSC, not QAM. I have a HDHomerun on my network so this isn't a problem, but it is annoying that HP would put in a Digital tuner that is pretty unusable.

what exactly comes with TV Pack?

It has more DRM (not good), but native support for Cable Clear QAM tuners. (many other things like better European TV tuner support etc.)

I can't understand why people would want to use anything but their cablebox as a dvr? You cant get the premium channels without it. For users of this touchsmart PC i would recommend this

http://ati.amd.com/products/tvwonderdigital/index.html

However, it is said that you need a special cablecard edition of vista to use it, do any of you touchsmart users know if the computer has it?
