Hi all,

I had no experience with the HP Touchsmart... I was impressed when I saw this Desktop at the shop :)

That's why I decided to buy one...

I have checked on ebay and there are many models... also 22 and 25.5 inch Touchsmarts...

I saw that many 22 inch versions have Intel Graphic inside... the nvidia graphic seems to be faster...

So I want to buy one for max. 900 dollar, here I have listed some of them:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-HP-TouchSmart-IQ815-Desktop-25-5-PC-TV-DVD-IQ804_W0QQ...

http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-Touchsmart-IQ500t-All-In-One-PC-C2D-4GB-500GB-22_W0QQi...

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-HP-TouchSmart-IQ525-Desktop-2-0GHz-500GB-22-LCD_W0QQi...

What would be the best choice ??

What you think about refurbished ones ?? I don't trust them... so I would prefer a new one...

but the price is really nice... the half of a new one...

http://cgi.ebay.com/HP-TOUCHSMART-IQ526-P8400-4GB-RAM-DUAL-CORE-2-26GHZ_W0QQi...

I really appreciate every help... cause I'm really newbie in HP Touchsmarts :)

Thx !!

I would go for the biggest screen. Everything else is pretty comparable, with 800 being on the better side.

The Iq804 is an auction so you never know how much it will go for.

ps. the IQ816 is one of the best ??
when I can get a new one for 1200 dollar (shipping included), it's a good price ??

IQ816 is one of the best. If you can get it for 1200 you are lucky.

Take it and enjoy.

ok , thx Szadzik for the info ...

What I don't understand... why HP is installing a:

Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 has a FSB of 800MT/s with DDR2 SDRAM (Memory speed 667 MHz) which will slow down the whole machine... should be also 800 ...
Did someone change the RAM to 800Mhz ?? Is there some improvement ?

The PM965 chipset, on which the IQ816 is based, only supports 667 Mhz DDR2 Memory.

Maybe try warranty status on HP website?

I didn't get the IQ816 .... the seller told me that he has no some problems to get new HP's .... so I was searching for another one and found.

It's a 22 inch one... but maybe it is enough...

HP TouchSmart IQ500t T9600 2.8GHz,512MB Nvidia 9600M , 500GB HDD

So it's a faster one then the IQ816

If you recommend another model then let me know.

It costs about 1200 $ ... maybe it's better to get for this money a new 600t series ??

Regards and Thanks !!

hmmm so ...

this seller has also a Touchsmart IQ800T 25.5-INCH with this spec:

# Intel Core 2 Duo processor T8100 (2.1GHz/2MB L2 Cache)
# 4GB DDR2-800MHz system memory
# 750GB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive
# Slot-load Blu-ray player & SuperMulti DVD burner
# 512MB NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS
# Wireless-N LAN card and Bluetooth
# TV tuner, ATSC & NTSC with PVR, remote
# 25.5" HD widescreen (Touch-Enabled)

or is the IQ500t much better and I would feel the difference in performance regarding the CPU ??
I will buy it on monday so I still have time to deside...

You will not feel any performance difference in everyday use.

If you wanted to do video editing on the machine that would be a CPU demanding task and you would see a difference, but not in everyday use, no.
