I just went on to the upgrade site to order it and its not free. It says the software is free but 'theres a charge for putting together the software' and postage (UK)! This surely cannot be right?

It is not free. Has always been this way, since Vista days for all recovery disks (aka original factory image).

I heavily think that that is a money grab. Restore Media SHOULD ALWAYS BE INCLUDED WITH THE UNIT. We should NOT have to MAKE them or ORDER them.
Such is a money grab and just pure LAZINESS on the PC Makers.

Yes. Dell always have provided dvd copies of the windows and drivers with the machine. Anyway this is not backup - this is an upgrade. It should be available at zero cost to download. We paid enough money for the machine as it is. Otherwise people might download a pirate copy!
Free upgrade!? We were conned!

I also did not order the upgrade media. They took enough of my money, and I can make a better restore disk(s) than they would provide any day.

All I request is, anyone who orders this, can you please finish around in the c:\swsetup folder once installed and find the latest ntrig drivers to share to the rest of the tx2 users out there?

Wow.... Thanks for this info and the link.. I just ordered my Recover disks.. I guess I will save my Windows 7 House Party Install disks for another computer.

does this mean i would have to have a existing premium 7 home key? i only have a professional key would this work? and why wouldnt xp compatibility mode work?
