hey guys

I am a proud owner of a tx2..

I wanted to incorporate a bluetooth headset with it so I could do comfortable Skype talks.

I bought A plantronics 855 headset, and it works great with my Nokia E71.

but when I tried to pair it with my tx2, it paird, but said it needed a "driver" for it and Google hasent heard of any driver or a solution to my problem.

any ideas?

Try Windows Update and see if it sees a generic driver for it.

Michael,

All Plantronics Bluetooth headsets are "Plug & Play" which mean they use the driver from the computer operating system. We have not yet received a test copy of Windows 7, but from several calls we have received, it appears that Windows 7 does not have a built-in Bluetooth support, so there is nothing we can do about this if this is the case.

thats their answer!

all of you should know that plantronics products will not work with windows 7
I personally think thats a very bad answer to give to a client.

so now I need to find my own way to solve this problem

I tried Windows Update too and it actually directs me to the Broadcom site to download the lastest software which I did but the software won't install. It says there is a problem but does not give any indication what the problem is.

HP have released the necessary drivers:

Installing these fixed all bluetooth issues I had, which were generally the same as yours. I am currently listening to music through my gear4 BlueStream RX and it's great!

Link to BT drivers worked beautifully. Thanks much.
