My tablet is hooked up to a quickdock which has a 2 port USB KVM attached to it. The other port is connected to a desktop. The tx2 doesn't always recognize that the keyboard and mouse are present. When that happens I can normally replug the mouse and it'll work, but I usually have to uninstall the keyboard from device manager and redetect it before it comes up properly.
I'm planning on buying a new computer desk and one of the things I wanted to do is cut a slot in the top that my tablet could be slid down in onto the dock connector. This would leave more desk space open and help with my goal of hiding as many cables as possible.
It's not feasible to do that though, if I can't get the keyboard and mouse to work reliably, because fixing the issues requires opening the lid which won't be possible without undocking in the new desk.
Ideas? I've had no problems getting the key and mouse recognized on the desktop (which is also running windows 7. So each individual device seems to be fine.
p.s. On occasion the laptop doesn't switch to the ext monitor when it's connected to the dock. (also requireing that I be able to open the lid to fix), but it's never a detection problem it windows. Does anyone know a way to make windows always turn off the LCD panel and use an external monitor if one is available?

I removed the KVM and everything works fine hooked directly up to the quickdock. Looks like I just need to find a KVM with better Win7 support.
