Hi!
Wich of the avaliable models allows you to connect the ps3? is the S-Video the only way to connect other devices??
No DVI or HDMI port???
Hi everyone !
I'm trying to connect my PS3 to my Hp TouchSmart without succes... I tried with a S-Video cable but it doesn't work. Could you please help ? Thanks a lot in advance !!!!
Hey, Royer. I am in the same pot as you are with my PS3. I finally purchased PS3 S-Video cable, but it doesn't seem to be working properly. The only solution I can think of is a software update or a new software. Very frustrating.
The IQ500/800 series does not have HDMI in or DVI in (or out for that matter). Connecting an external video signal to show on the TouchSmart LCD screen is not something the HP TouchSmart PC was designed to do, nor was it designed to enable hooking up an extra external display, so any attempts to do this will result in less than what you may expect.
Going through Media Center is not viable because Media Center uses the hard drive as a buffer to enable commercial skipping. Anything you view "live" is actually delayed by a couple of seconds because of this buffering. Gameplay especially won't work very well because the buffer delay causes the real "action" in the game to be shown to you too late to react properly.
About 7 years ago, my friend purchased this video card, installed it in his desktop, then played his Playstation 1 on it by using this program that came with the video card. After 7 years, I can only imagine that the IQ 500/800 video card is better. Only if I can get the program that uses the TV tuner without the recording function, this might work. Hopefully, fingers crossed.

I purchase, own, and mess around with many notebook computers... not many at all allow video input of any kind. That usually requires what you had mentioned, a third party device that allows that kind of input.
It is a feature that would be nice, especially if you are on the road gaming or wish to video capture your gaming sessions.
