To fix 6: Restart the computer. It's the easiest workaround. The reasons for the issue are complicated and boring at the same time.
A fix for 5 might be to download new ACPI drivers from the HP support site. Similar for 2.
Not sure what to do about the others. Anyone else?
Upgraded from Vista 64 bit to "7" 64 Bit. I am experieincgin the followiong issues:
1 - my wife is ready to kill me now that her favorite game, Mahjong, is gone! Can I download the EXACT same version that was on my Vista IQ506t somewhere?
2 - My microphone is not working.
3 - Win 7 feature "Peek At Desktop" is not working. "Show Desktop" works perfectly.
4 - I would like my old screensavers that were on the Vista iq506t back as well.
5 - Audio, (vol +, vol - and mute), buttons not working. KB audio buttons work fine.
6 - Hulu app keeps telling me that I need to download and install an update and then restart TS Application. I do this but it keeps cycling back telling me over and over that Hulu needs an update.
GTG, I tried your fix for #5 by d/l and installing this:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=pv-7570...
Didn't fix it.
As for #6 I tried that as well , no dice. Works fin in Windows environment just not within TS software.
*also, the onscreen KB/Audio notifications are not working.
OK, I fixed the on screen display issue as well as the audio buttons on the side by searching for and FINALLY finding from the recovery partition the correct .msi from the DRV folders not the APP folders.
Mic still isn't working
no Win 7 "Peek at Desktop" functionality
no Mahjong - UGH
no old screensavers - no biggie.
Are you using the hardware button to start the TS software? If so, use the desktop icon once, that should let the update "take". Then restart to make the hardware button "pick up" the new Hulu version.

Hmm. I just tried what I asked you to do on my system. On that system it also didn't work. So I reset the tile configuration to "factory" settings by running the following from the Win+R Run... dialog:
smartcenter deleteconfig
After that I had a different tile configuration than before, but now the Hulu tile works. I just have to re-arrange my tiles the way I want them and re-do my background picture selection.
OK, I'm lost, LOL! What are you suggesting that I do?
P.S. I got the Microphone to work by updating the audio drivers via Windows Update. Also, "Peek at Desktop" is now working. Not sure what I did to fix that.
My wife REALLY wants her MahJong game back. any idea how I can get it back?
I suggest a trade-off remedy. You can do what I did at the price of having to re-customize your tiles, or you can keep things the way they are and use Hulu just from the desktop.
There is actually a third thing you can do, but that would involve digging into a configuration file and editing it. If you want to do that, I can write up how the file needs to be edited and where it is located.
I have no idea how to get MahJong back.
I needed to enable the GAMES from your Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and click on the "Turn Windows features on or off" then expand on Games and check mark the Mahjong.
Mahjong and all other games are up & running. I find it odd that games are turned "OFF" by default.
