just been looking for a new all-in-one and was very taken with the 25.5" iq845, but i see that hp have discontinued it in favour of a smaller screen 23" iq600 :-(

Does anyone know if there are problems with the larger screened product that has made HP make this rather backward step? There are still stocks of the older model around but i'm currently concerned i might be buying a problem machine?????

No faults, they decided the 25.5" is too large and does not sell.

I have the IQ845 and I like it ok. It is not the fastest thing on the block. It lags a lot. When I first turned it on it was so slow I was tempted to send it back.

The store floor models were so much faster than this unit I have. I enjoy the big screen but if I had to choose knowing what I know now, I would buy the 600 over the 846.

I have 830 and it has similar specs as yours I believe. It is not a tad bit slow.

Try Windows 7 on it and you will never say IQ846 is slow.

I am running windows 7. It is operating a little faster than it was under vista. When I was on Vista the processors always to be near maxed. I disabled some HP applications that were always running and that helped to speed it up some.

I am still kicking myself for no upgrading to the fastest processor they had available but I got this one only because of the price and it was near to being maxed out.

I still want to buy a Touch Tablet PC, but this time I will not buy on impulse, I will do a little research.

The 800 series is pretty tricked out. That is when you consider it's just laptop guts crammed into the back of a monitor. Mine has a Win exp index of 5.5, nothing to sneeze at. You may want to post over at the HP support boards re: a laggy unit. And win7 isn't the end all os either. I have already found several bugs plaguing it. The touchsmart is not a super gamer but I am going to attempt to play the newly released RUSE on it and see what happens.

I LOVE my IQ 846 - the 25.5 inch screen is amazing.

I looked at the new 600 series, and it is only an inch larger then the 500 series was - I bought the 800 series for the size!

That being said, it is quite slow (compared to the CPUs now).

Can someone tell me what the fastest CPU the IQ 846 can take is?

Can you upgrade the video card? If so, what kind of video card do I need to look for?

Thanks as always!
