Hello everyone!

I would like to know if someone has observed this strange behavior described bellow.

I'm using Windows 7 RTM x64 on my TX2-1020us, but I noticed that Microsoft Virtual WiFi was installed 2 days ago. So, 2 wireless network cards (Broadcom and Microsoft Virtual miniport) are appearing now.

It happened after undervolting my TX2-1020us using the K10STAT software.

The default values for ZM-82 Processor were:
P0 = 1.125V (2200 MHz)
P1 = 0.95V (1100 MHz),
P2 = 0.80V (550 MHz),

Initially, I set these values:
P0 = 1.075V (2200 MHz)
P1 = 0.90V (1100 MHz)
P2 = 0.75V (550 MHz)

After that, I modified one more time the P0 and P1 states:
P0 = 1.05V (2200 MHz)
P1 = 0.80V (1100 MHz)
P2 = 0.75V (550 MHz)

I think the change in voltage might have allowed the installation of MS Virtual WiFi. Is it possible?

I’m afraid if this is a Broadcom wireless card issue (i.e. 1st indication of heating problems on TX1000 and TX2000 series).

After that, I did a clean install of Windows 7 and I have neither installed windows updates nor used K10STAT software. So far, the MS Virtual WiFi didn’t appear.

Anyone else has noticed if the Microsoft Virtual WiFi has been installed on your TX2?

Thanks for any information.

Wow, thats interesting. That was a feature of windows that was left in windows 7, but never completed with a front end. There are programs out there that will enable it for you however. Unsure how that got itself setup, but I would guess it probably had nothing to do with KA10STAT.

Nothing to do with the processor. Everything to do with new Broadcom drivers. Have been using to Sync my Zune for a while now. See http://virtualrouter.codeplex.com for free app that acts as front end. Else see http://lituuslimacon.blogspot.com for simple command-line instructions.

The question is though, how did he manage to install that program, or a couple others that enable that fuctionality without his knowing it. I am assuming anyways that he didnt install it and just not mention it..

Auto update? Maybe Windows is testing a finalized version? Definitely not related to KStat, but I couldn't explain it. You could check what Windows has updated recently, might shed some light on the issue.

The windows virtual wifi driver was automatically installed after I undervolting my processor. I don't remember if there was an auto update (windows update). I couldn't uninstall it, because after rebooting, the driver always was reinstalled.

After a new clean Install of Windows 7, and updating my system (windows update), the MS virtual driver doesn't reappeared.
