after installing windows 7 and the newest N-trig driver and software from hp.com, I noticed that the option for auto switch mode between pen and touch is gone. Does anyone know how to enable that option?

also, I noticed that the pen is quite a bit less sensitive compare to my experience using vista for 8 months. right now the sensitivity is so low that it makes quite writing and small writing nearly impossible. any idea how to adjust that sensitivity?

Try using the 2.59 drivers/firmware and see if that resolves your issues. Other than that, I am unaware of how adjust the sensitivity of the pen but have never really looked into it. Is it just not tracking the tip of the pen onscreen correctly or?

I'm guessing what you are looking for is under Control Panel > Hardware > NTrig (not exact but you should be able to navigate with this).

I installed the 2.59 driver and got my auto switch back, now the only problem is the "sensitivity" thing which i find is more like not recognizing the part of the strokes during fast writings. I tried drawing a series of parallel lines quickly and half of them end up only having less then half of the length of the other lines. this happened in all the programs i tried: one note, paint, pdf annotator

Chances are your pen is bad.

I know you probably disagree, but I had the same problem and said what the hell and had it replaced.

Never had the problem sense,

I'm having the same problem. Writing with the pen in dual mode worked great in Vista but not so great in Win7. There must be a way to fix or adjust to fix this given all the hype about Win7 touch capability. Someone mentioned 2.59 n-trig driver but I can't seem to find these?

I'm having it too. I can't draw or write anything with stylus in window 7 with my tx2z :(

btw, my pen has been function incorrectly since win vista, when I draw a line, the line was always divided by many dots, mayb the driver or my pen is bad :( how can I have a replaced from HP? :(

You can buy them for 20 bucks from HP, or if under warranty have it replaced.

I just used online chat support to do that. Shipped to me in two days.

My tx2z is under warranty now, however, I live outside us and the HP office here seems not supported this product.
Btw, my friend brought this tx2z in us then shipped to me, so I'm not direct buyer, how can I prove to HP that my pen is bad and have to replace? :(

sorry for stupid question, I never use online chat support before so it's a bit hesitate :p

Um...I can post my chat log so you can see how it went. They didn't fight me at all on it. This is the most important parts of the chat log. I removed sensitive info.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Jeremy Schulte : My digitizer pen has begun to skip--inking does not work continuously unless I only use a certain side of the pen tip.
[An agent will be with you shortly.]
[You are now chatting with Zack Anderson .]
Zack Anderson : Hi Jeremy. Welcome to HP Total Care. Please give me a few moments while I review your problem description details.

NOTE: For security reasons, PLEASE DO NOT send credit card information via chat.

Jeremy Schulte : ok
Zack Anderson : Thank you
Zack Anderson : I apologize for the delay.
Jeremy Schulte : No problem.
Zack Anderson : There is a technical glitch due to which I was unable to respond.

Zack Anderson : May I know if the pen was dropped?
Jeremy Schulte : No, it has not. It remains tethered to my tablet. However, the tip is lose.
Jeremy Schulte : While it has not been dropped, there is deformity of the surface.
Jeremy Schulte : Periodically, the right click button on it will malfunction as well.
Zack Anderson : The right click button on the digitizer or the computer?
Jeremy Schulte : The digitizer. The touchscreen will detect a right click, when there was none. It requiresme to press the button on the pen a couple times before it goes back to normal.
Jeremy Schulte : --Which leads me to believe its a defective pen.
Zack Anderson : In that case, I will replace it for you.
Jeremy Schulte : What information do you need from me?
