Im currently looking at getting the HP iq500 and i havn't been able to discern from anything on the internet about how easy it is to rig the touchscreen to apps other than touchsmart
Im particularly interested in whether its compatible with Ableton Live, Cubase and Reaktor 5

You can use the touch screen with any software, just as you would use your mouse with any software. You'd want to get Windows 7 for the IQ500 if you want to use multitouch with other software, however, as the implementation for multitouch for Vista TouchSmarts does not support other software.
